About us

Sudan Open Learning Initiative (SoLi) was founded in January 2022 by a group of Sudanese academics. It aspires to be a hub for youth and women's empowerment, offering free access to digital skills training solutions and knowledge transfer. SoLi specifically aims to increase the employability of women and youth while mitigating the negative effects of the country's current social, economic, and environmental challenges.

To address unemployment and a lack of economic opportunities in Sudan, SoLi will serve as a flagship initiative, providing youth with critical digital skills and knowledge required by local and foreign employers. With a core foundation of a large, digitally skilled workforce, the initiative aims to bridge the skill gap and establish a thriving ecosystem that supports innovation. Furthermore, one overarching goal of the initiative is to improve gender inclusivity by allowing female youth to benefit from the digital economy.
